while finishing a project yesterday, i realized i need a rather large button. i went to the store to get a button. i came home with a dozen buttons. i always forget how beautiful buttons are! they are all so small, by comparison to most things, and all so different from each other. even when designed to match, every button is different, like a snowflake or thumbprint. like people even, if you wish to draw the comparison that far.
anyway, i was also reminded how changing a button for another on exactly the same item can completely alter the result. i ended up choosing a yellow daisy button over the a large black sparkly one. the black one was very pretty. the daisy was more fun though. it made all the difference on an entirely black project.
i suppose what i'm getting at is that the best part of anything is almost always in the details. we may have something in common, but what we bring to our commonality from our separate details is what compels us to our commonality in the first place. our details give us common ground. i really hope that makes sense somewhere other than in my head.
it is good to remember anew.
